Testimonial

“Whenever my 8 siblings or I ask our 93-year-old mother how she is doing, she always responds with “I am wonderful! They treat me so nicely here.  My every need is met.”  What more would anyone want to hear from their mother?  We all feel so blessed to have Mom in her home at Avery Heights.

Mom entered Avery on January 15th, 2015.  We knew this was a special place that felt like home from the moment we entered.  Currently, my mother is living happily in the Burnham Memory Care unit.  Before COVID hit, I visited her several times a week.  Burnham has such a home-like feel.  It is bright and cheery.  The nursing staff couldn’t be any nicer.  All of the aides are welcoming and treat each resident of the Burnham family with kindness and respect.  They work very hard to make it pleasant.  Her meals are incredible; we have never heard her complain about the food.

The cleaning staff keeps the entire area spotless!  They know the residents and do their jobs with a smile.

Holly, the Director of Memory Care, loves her work, which is evident every day she is there.  She keeps Mom and the others “on their toes” with fun games, quizzes, sing-a-longs, and crafts.  Andrew, Holly’s assistant, has been such a joy to Mom.  He and Holly would FaceTime or call us weekly during the quarantine lockdown.  This reassured us that all was well and kept us connected.

We appreciate how much time, effort, and love the staff puts into caring for Mom.  We thank Tanairi, who greets us at the front desk every time we visit, Basha and the facilities workers, who have organized all of the moves for Mom, Corrie, who has spent numerous hours running the entertainment. Theresa in the Villager shop is so helpful in finding just the right items for Mom, and Rose does Mom’s hair and makes her look and feel beautiful.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to Bill Englehart, the outstanding “Captain” of Avery Heights! He has always been available to answer our questions. He knows and enjoys all of the “passengers” at this wonderful place.

Speaking for my siblings and myself, our hearts know Mom is where she should be.  We feel so Blessed that we chose Avery Heights for mom.”
