Letter from our Director

Hello!

As the Director of Independent Living, it is my pleasure to welcome you to The Heights, and to our cottage neighborhood, both located on the beautiful 43-acre campus of Avery Heights. For over thirty years, it has been my pleasure to work with the residents of this wonderful community. 

I appreciate the opportunity to share a little about the many advantages of choosing to make your home at Avery Heights. When asked, our residents will invariably tell you that they based their decision to move here on one (or more) of these three reasons:

• Avery Heights is a Continuum of Care community offering independent living, assisted living, assisted living memory care, intermediate nursing care, and short- and long-term skilled nursing care. As you or your partner’s needs change, Avery Heights has a level of care to support you.
• There is no expensive buy-in. The Heights and Cottages offer a broad range of rental-only prices and unit layouts and sizes.  With no expensive buy-in, you retain maximum flexibility to manage your financial resources as you prefer.
• Avery Heights’ location provides convenient proximity to Greater Hartford’s major medical centers, educational institutions, and cultural venues.

My team’s goal, when you move to your new home on our campus, is to live up to Avery Heights’ not-for-profit mission to promote and maintain your optimal independence. We do this by introducing you to a wide-ranging menu of services and amenities, and to a vibrant community of neighbors who, like you, have worked hard to secure a comfortable retirement. When you join us, you will come to appreciate a culture which prioritizes activity, engagement, and fellowship. I hope you will make the move to The Heights…I’m confident you will be glad you did!
